# Creating Procedures

**Authoring** is a term used to describe how procedures or content are created in Manifest. Manifest supports a variety of ways to capture content making it easy for Subject Matter Experts to digitize work instructions in any environment or on any platform. These captured workflows are stored in Manifest as **templates** which are characterized by numbered steps completed in sequential order.
